Examples Of Reasonable Accommodations

 
  • Modifying examinations, training, or other programs to cater to the disabled person
  • Changing the facilities used by workers to be more readily accessible for use by the disabled person
  • Altering employee work schedules
  • Buying equipment or changing the current equipment to be used by the disabled person
  • Furnishing the disabled person with an interpreter or a reader to help understand
  • Assigning a current disabled employee to a vacant position that the employee is qualified for if the disabled employee is not able to do the original job due to a disability even with an accommodation.
  • Changing a disabled person’s job
  • Employers are not forced to lower quality or quantity standards as an accommodation and they are also not obligated to provide personal use items such as a needed such as hearing aids or a pair of glasses.
